IMPORTANT INFORMATION
CHOOSING THE RIGHT CHILD RESTRAINT
Choosing the right child restraint depends on your child's age, height, weight and size.
A restraint must be suitable for your child and used according to the manufacturer's instructions.
If you are unsure which restraint is appropriate for your child, contact us on +61 402 981 475 and we can help.
CHILD RESTRAINT POSITION IN YOUR VEHICLE
A child restraint may be installed in the rear passenger, driver or centre seating position, depending on your vehicle and the restraint being fitted.
The preferred position may not always be possible because of factors such as the vehicle's seat shape, seat belts, anchor points and the requirements of the particular restraint.
Our accredited fitters will determine the most appropriate installation position for your vehicle and restraint.
CHECKS AFTER INSTALLATION
Before every trip, check:
• The restraint is securely fitted.
• The seat belt or ISOFIX connection is correctly secured, where applicable.
• The harness is correctly adjusted and has no twists or slack.
• The upper tether is correctly attached and adjusted, where required.
• The restraint is positioned and adjusted according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• There are no loose objects in the vehicle that could injure your child.
REGULARLY CHECK YOUR CHILD'S RESTRAINT
As your child grows, regularly check that:
• Your child is still within the restraint's height and weight limits.
• Your child's shoulders are within the permitted harness height range.
• The harness can be correctly adjusted.
• Any inserts or accessories are being used correctly.
• The restraint has not been damaged or involved in a crash.
HIRE EQUIPMENT CHECKS
All hired child restraints are carefully inspected before and after each hire.
We check:
• Harnesses and tether straps for signs of wear or damage.
• The restraint for cracks, damage or broken components.
• Buckles and adjustment mechanisms to ensure they operate correctly.
• Tether hooks and adjustment mechanisms.
• That all required parts are present.
• The overall condition and age of the restraint.
Any restraint involved in a crash must not be reused and will be removed from service.
